Techmoran reports that Hypercube, Zimbabwe’s version of iHub or leaning more towards the Nailab model is closing shop. This is not good news as there is quite a number of startups that have gotten life as a result of interacting with this hub. Hubs have their role and this one failing is quite a message to the even smaller dependants who seek to raise funds to navigate the customer acquisition market.
Sometime back, one of our hubs, not sure I can disclose the name, was almost closing shop before they got a lifeline, and they are strong after that. 88MPH closed shop sometime back in Kenya after calling Kenyan startups “fluff”.
We do hope Hypercube gains some lifeline and comes back swinging.
