Anyone here using Adguard home…

Any specific filter recommendations apart from the default one…

I have used Adguard home on a router running Openwrt and it performed poorly compared to adblock this is with regards to speed .
Adblock uses many sources including Adguard home .

For me Adguard Home is okay performance wise. Before that i was using adblock on my phone…

I use pi-hole, never needed anything else.

So far Adguard Home is okay, actually some go as far as saying it is better than Pihole…

Was just wondering if there are more localized block lists I need to add…

Curios …

  1. If you’re not getting #ads or rather the performance is great why would you want more lists/customizations?
  2. I wonder what % of traffic is “localized” or hosted in #KE …

  2. Number 1 plus some ads though not hosted locally are targeted geographically. So was sort of looking at optimizing ad blockage as much as possible…

Without a #VPN I don’t think you’d get around this as the site is looking up your source/originating IP …looking at you #businessinsider

A step-up for privacy(from your ISP) would be to #selfhost or run your own recursive DNS server + cache like #Unbound
